Tabla-Bodhrán

My Bodhrán is the goatskin 39.14TSG version of the Eckermann Drums "Tabla-Bodhrán", a tenor/baritone drum with integrated tuning device.
It has a diameter of 39cm and a frame depth of 15cm (Ø 14"x5") and is extremely well made with a stunning attention to detail and playability. A fine example of craftmanship!
Norbert Eckermann build me a subtle and very dynamic instrument. The drum has an additional ring of goatskin which enables it to produce clear, pure overtones in harmony relation to the basic note, if tuning is done with good care and precision.
The Tabla-Bodhrán Membrane needs less than 50% of the physical pressure of the left hand in comparison to a normal, or double skin Bodhran. A delicate drum for the advanced player.

It's found it's place in our Celtic and Transatlantic sets.
