Sound Skulptor Microphone PreAmps

Here it is, the high quality but affordable alternative to vintage outboard preamps!
Either as kit or pre-assembled, Sound Skulptor pre-amps are the answer to the pre-amp needs of many of us. Used either on stage, home studio, professional studio, these will stand out.
I use them on stage. Providing extremely tweakable and robust tools, this company needs to get far more attention. Let go this preoccupation with "American made" equipment.
Make a choice based on quality!

Here are the components I use:

The MP73 module has a vintage sound character to it. The sound is full bodied, rich and silky. It has that 'larger than life' quality. The sound is detailed but not hyped, and has an unstrained and easy, open character. I have two of these and use it for both adding body and character to close vocals and smoothness and integration to acoustic instruments. So one of them is also connected to the DI module.

The MP32 is, by far, the cleanest of the lot. Being extremely open and transparant, I run me miked acoustic instruments through it. This pre-amp wil let your priced instrument sound as it should.
It adds nothing and most important: it doesn't lose anything either.

The MP12 providing a tight, punchy 'American' character with a slightly forward mid-range. The 'LA' sound (typical of the big API consoles of the mid 1970s). I use this for electric slide guitar and backing vocals.
So this one is also connected to the DI module.

The DI input is FET-based, which reduces the level and balances the signal to suit the preamp modules' mic inputs. The DI input is selected in place of the normal mic input automatically (via a relay) as soon as a plug is inserted. So it works extremely simpel: Plug your instrument and it'll run through the pre-selected pre-amp.
